I have enormous respect for the work of Mr. Nielsen. But I disagree with the argument of abandoning traditional UI/UX. The focus of the design process is the human. HMI is defined by human ergonomics. AI will introduce new data interaction paradigms, but GUI, text, audio/video, 3d will stay. So investing in the future is investing in the proven past heuristics, psychology and adaptation to the new data delivery and interaction patterns. Learning how ML is working, experimenting, prototyping, testing is the logical step forward. But the goal of UX will never change.:)

I’m close to retirement - I think. Closer than most, anyway. But I don’t want to miss anything! So, I’m in.
