Generative AI tools often produce text at high reading levels, posing difficulty for low-literacy users. Specifying lower reading levels in the prompt can go wrong, making a copy review imperative before publishing. The content generated by prevalent AI tools (ChatGPT, Bard, Bing Chat, etc.) is typically formulated at a 12th-grade reading level or beyond, posing a significant challenge to low-literacy users. To ensure that your content is universally comprehensible, I recommend that you request a lower reading level in your prompt.
I am not sure if you were able to specify the Kincaid metric to the ChatGPT. Because when I tested this with ChatGPT, I mentioned that the output should be complaint with the Kincaid grade level of 8-9th and cross-checked the generated output and it works perfectly :)

No, I just specified “8th grade reading level” without naming a particular readability test. Will try that! (But one should not have to do so.)
